Clown Jam
“Punto fijo” is the name of an ongoing series of clown jams, initiated in 2012 in Buenos Aires by clown/teacher Marina Barbera, with Lehum Sbarra. Inspired by the jam format of Contact Improvisation, it is a laboratory for exchange, collective reflection and clown practice. We are excited to share this format at the clown festival innsbruck 2018!
“It’s not a show; there is no fixed audience. It’s not an open class; there is no teacher. It’s a time to come together, propose a simple pattern of improvisation, and lose ourselves in the game. It’s a creative, collective and collaborative action that doesn’t seek the effect of effectiveness, but rather a state that allows us to access our own material in relation to other people who are interested in the language of clown.” —Marina Barbera, Argentine clown
Clown experience is required.
Bring a nose, costume(s) and objects (including musical instruments) for yourself, as well as extra objects and costume pieces to share with the group. If you don’t use a nose, bring what you consider to be your mask.
